Water <br />Supply Protection - Request for Funds for Additional Tamarisk <br />Inventory <br /> <br />Russell George <br />Executive Director <br /> <br />Rod Kuharich <br />CWCB Director <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br />At the January 2006 meeting the Board heard and considered a report form Mr. Tim <br />Carlson, Executive Director of the Tamarisk Coalition, presenting the preliminary data and <br />findings from a Board funded project to inventory tamarisk and other invasive <br />phreatophytes in the Arkansas and Colorado Basins, Staff noted then that they had not <br />yet identified a source of additional funds to continue the inventory process into remaining <br />basins of the state. This agenda item is to advise the Board that we now intend to use <br />$50,000. offunds from the Severance Tax Operational Account beginning in July 2006 to <br />complete the inventory project in cooperation with the Tamarisk Coalition. There is some <br />additional discussion of tamarisk control activities in the Director's Report <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />There is no staff recommendation, this item is informational only. <br />
