January 20-21, 1993 at Northglenn in conjunction with the Colorado Water Congress.
Additional meetings were scheduled for March 4-5, 1993 and May 6-7, 1993. The
matter was discussed by Sheftel, Eisel, Meyring, Wright, Salazar, and Smith.

Chairman Martineau gave a progress report on the interview process. Co=ents were
made by Lochhead and Eisel. Chairman Martineau recessed the meeting so the Board
could go into executive session.

Call to Order (estimated 11:40 a.m.)

Chairman Martineau called the meeting back to order at approximately 11:40 a.m. in
the CWCB's Director's office, Room 721, State Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman
Street, Denver, Colorado, and there was a quorum. Chairman Martineau, Sheftel,
Wright, Smith, Meyring, and Eisel participated by telephone conference call. Peter
Evans, DNR, represented Ken Salazar. Chairman Martineau indicated he had
authority to exercise David Harrison's vote by proxy. Absent were Lochhead, Simpson,
Norton, and Olson.

Report on Matters Discussed in Executive Session (estimated 11:40 - 11:42 a.m.)

Chairman Martineau indicate that the CWCB had interviewed the top candidates for
both the CWCB Director position and the State Engineer position and discussed their
credentials during the executive session.

Personnel Matters, continued (estimated 11:42 - 11:45 a.m.)

Chairman Martineau indicated that the chair would entertain a motion to formalize
the results of the Board's interviews and discussion. Janice Sheftel moved that the
Board enthusiastically appoint Chuck Ule as CWCB Director llIld enthusiastically
endorse Hal Simpson as State Engineer. Peter Evans provided the second and the
motion passed unanimously (8-0). Chuck Lile was congratulated.
