Evans <br />Acting Director, eWeB <br /> <br />FROM: Dan Merriman <br />Mark Uppendahl <br /> <br />DATE: January 5,1999 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Item 6a, January 27-28, 1999, Board Meeting-- <br />Instream Flow Program - Informational Item - <br />Proposed Fourmile Creek Instream Flow Segments <br />Water Division 2, Teller and Fremont Counties <br /> <br />Summary of Board Actions Ree:ardine: Fourmile Creek <br /> <br />On December 9, 1998, the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB), at its special meeting, <br />elected to table action on the proposed four Fourmile Creek instream flow segments until more <br />biological data could be collected. The CWCB directed its staff to coordinate this additional data <br />collection effort. <br /> <br />Staff Action <br /> <br />As directed by the Board, staff is currently planning to collect additional data regarding the <br />proposed four Fourmile Creek instream flow segments. Staff has requested the Division of <br />Wildlife (DOW) assist the Board's staff in collecting this additional instream flow data on <br />. Fourmile Creek. Staff has also contacted Roy Smith, BLM Instream Flow Coordinator, and <br />made him aware of the Board's intention to collect additional data and invited the BLM to <br />participate in this collection effort. Staff will also inform representatives of the City of Cripple <br />Creek and the Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mining Company of staffs data collection effort <br />and will invite their participation. In addition, the staff will contact the local land and water <br />users on Fourmile Creek and invite their participation in this data collection effort. Staff is <br />planning on collecting this additional data in late March or early April, before the start of spring <br />runoff. <br /> <br />Staff will also collect and review additional hydrologic data pertaining to its water availability <br />analysis. This additional data will include: reviewing the 1998 Division 2 Water Court Resumes <br />to determine the etIects, if any, of any new water rights on the original Fourmile Creek water <br />availability analysis, reviewing the 1997-98 stream data collected at the Fourmile Creek USGS <br />
