<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />APPENDIX E <br /> <br />FPR 223 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 3, 1983 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled <br />Lefthand Creek, Volume II, Boulder County, Colorado," <br />August, 1983, has been prepared by Simons, Li & Associates, <br />at the request of Boulder County and the Colorado <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />"Upper <br />dated <br />Inc. , <br />Water <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floOdplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area within the communities of Boulder <br />County, Jamestown, and Ward, Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Boulder County has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such leg islati ve bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floOdplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />128 <br />res/223 <br /> <br />APPENDIX E <br />
