This investigation was to be performed in cooperation with the National <br />Weather Service (NWS), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), other state agencies, and <br />local governments. The local governments agreed to share in the cost of the investigation in the <br />following amounts: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Arapahoe County <br />Douglas County <br />City of Aurora <br />City of Greenwood Village <br /> <br />$20,000 <br />$20,000 <br />$10,000 <br />$25,000 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The purpose of this study is to perform a technical review of existing Probable Maximum <br />Precipitation (PMP) information and to complete a new site-specific PMP analysis for Cherry <br />Creek dam and reservoir. During the scoping and development of this authorized project, the <br />CWCB, in cooperation with the local sponsors and the Cherry Creek work group, contracted <br />with Applied Weather Associates of Monument, Colorado to perform the PMP investigation. <br />The' total PMP investigation cost is $149,812. This study will be completed by December 31, <br />2001. <br /> <br />The CWeB staff and the technical review team fully understand that a Probable Maximum Flood <br />(PMF) investigation will be needed to satisfactorily address the Cherry Creek Reservoir Flood <br />Safety Issue. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
