To date, others have
expended $219,410 on this project. This phase involves a feasibility study to evaluate
construction of a new reservoir on Long Hollow at the lower end of the basin and to
evaluate enlargement the existing Red Mesa Ward Reservoir. The Long Hollow
Reservoir would allow for improved administration of the La Plata River Compact while
enlargement of the Red Mesa Ward Reservoir would provide storage that would benefit
water users within the basin, Half of the funds will be used to complete the feasibility
study, and half of the fund will be available for project design. This study and project are
considered to be of statewide concern since the purpose is to resolve issues associated
with one of Colorado's interstate compacts,

(See location map on reverse)

3
