Some example requests from various communities throughout Colorado are <br />shown on attached Map 2 (High Priority Proposed CWCB Floodplain Mapping Projects) to <br />demonstrate the ongoing need for floodplain mapping. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board formally endorse the creation of a long-term Floodplain <br />Mapping Program, to ensure state support for ongoing floodplain mapping efforts in Colorado. <br />The creation of this program will transform the cutjrent informal program of annual funding <br />requests for floodplain mapping into a formalized program to accomplish floodplain mapping <br />on a continuous basis.
