It was moved by Mr. Smith and seoonded 'Ily Dr. Nelson that
the Board authQrize the payment of the sum of $1,996.00 to Judge
A. W. MoHendrie and the sum of $1,190.00 to Henry C. Vidal.
being &oorued amounts now due for their servioes as speoial oounsel
in the ce.se of Colorado vs, Kansas, ..nel. that these payments are
approved for the reason that they are considered te b" an adjust-
ment of inequalities between the lIJl10unt paid by the State of
Color&do and the amoWlts heretofore paid by lceal interests in
these oases and do not eonstitute a preoedent nor werk against
the polioy of the Board that suoh IlIIl.tters should be handled as

It was moved by Mr. Dille and seoonded by Dr. Nelson that
George J. Bailey be employed by the Colorado Water Conservation
Board as speoial oounsel in the case of Ne:braskS. va. Wyoming
and Colorado, United States, Interv-ener, and that fQr suoh
ser'Vioes he be paid $30,00 per diem and expenses for the time
actually devoted' by him te this oase,

with all members of the Board voting Aye exoept Mr. Bailey who
passed.

It was lIloved by Dr. Nelson and seoonded by Mr. Smith that
Judge A. W. McHendrie and Henry C. Vidal be elllployed .by the Board
as speoial counsel in the case of- Colorado VB. XlIIIsas and that
for such services each of them be paid $30,00 per diam and expenses
for the time actually devoted by ee.oh of them respeotively to
this case.

By unanimous agreelllSnt it was decided that a further
meeting of the Colorado Water Conservation Board be held on
June 28, 1943 to consider the budget and. work pregrt\J!l. of the
Colora.do Water Conservatien Board for the bienni_ elllmmencing
July 1, 1943.

Governor John C. Vivian came into the meeting and Direot-or Stone went
over the various items on the agenda, explaining what action had been taken
by the Board, partioular1y pointing out the action with.respeot to the as~
sistanoe to the State Planning CommiSsion in the preparation a.nd oompletion
of land use maps, and with respect to the payment of lI.IIlemrl;s a.bove mentioned
to speoial counsel in the Arkansas Valley and North Platte interstate cases,
and the employment of special oounsel.
