<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />135 <br /> <br />With the Upper Colorado River Basin Compact approved, the Director <br />explained plans for organizing the Upper Colorado River Commission, provided <br />by such Compact. The Colorado legislature, he said, made available $40,000 as <br />Colorado's share for the administration of the Compact during the two-year period <br />1949-50-51. He said Colorado's CoIlllllissioner should make an effort to have the <br />principal office of the Commission established in Colorado. <br /> <br />Regarding the anticipated Congressional approval of the Arkansas Kiver <br />Compact, the Director reported that no opposition or difficulty seemed likely. <br /> <br />The Director analyzed the Board budget for the next biennium, reporting <br />the appropriation reductions made by the legislature, and outlining some of the <br />services and routine expenses which would have to be curtailed or eliminated. <br />He said that for actual operating expenses, the Board received $25,000 less than <br />for the 1947-49 biennium. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Mr. Dille that the minutes <br />of the Board meeting held December 10-11, 1948 be approved. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Hunter.
