Efforts these past few months have been <br />focused almost totally on the development of a comprehensive action plan aimed at conserving the <br />Humpback Chub. Preliminary recommendations were made to the AMWG at its May 29 meeting. <br />The TWG met on May 28 and 30. The next AMWG meeting is August 13-14. <br /> <br />Ruedi Reservoir Contract Negotiations: CWCB staff represented Colorado in contract negotiations <br />with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to develop a contract that <br />would deliver 10,825 acre-feet of water per year through 2012 to benefit endangered fish and critical <br />habitat in the Colorado mainstem. The draft contract was approved by the CWCB at the May meeting <br />and has now been signed by all parties. This completes another element ofthe IS-Mile Reach PBO! <br /> <br />Petition to List Roundtail and Headwater Chub: The center for Biological Diversity and Sky Island. <br />Alliance filed a petition on April 2 with the USFWS to list the Roundtail Chub and Headwater Chub as <br />endangered species. The Center claims that the Roundtail was once abundant throughout the Lower <br />Colorado River Basin but is now limited to 19 small tributaries of the Gila, San Pedro, SaIt and Verde <br />. rivers in Arizona and New Mexico. The Headwater Chub is found in only 13 small tributaries of the <br /> <br />19 <br />
