Members ofthe federal government participating in the <br />training session included Roy Smith and Dennis Murphy of the BLM and John Almy, Chris <br />James and Gary Shellhorn of the USFS. <br /> <br />On June 17, all parties participated in a training session on Escalante Creek (located in Montrose <br />and Delta Counties). Parties were instructed on the proper methods for site selection and data <br />collection. <br /> <br />On June 18, Mark and Jay continued working with the USFS personnel on Dyke Creek in Delta <br />County, This increased cooperation with the USFS is a continuation of the GMUG Pathfinder <br />process. The USFS has identified five stream segments for possible instream flow protection <br />including Dyke Creek, Beaver Dam Creek, West, Middle and East Forks of Spring Creek. These <br />segments are located in Delta, Montrose and Ouray counties and are being added to the CWCB <br />instream flow work plan for possible appropriation in 2004. <br /> <br />CFWE Quarterly Report: A brief report from Karla regarding the Colorado Foundation for <br />Water Education is attached for your information. <br /> <br />Instream Flow Decision Support System (ISFDSS) Request for Proposals: The Scope of <br />Work for the ISFDSS was completed in May and we are in the process of securing the necessary <br />approvals and preparing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of the ISFDSS. <br />Staff hopes to complete the RFP process and initiate development ofthe ISFDSS by September. <br /> <br />Colorado Water Congress Events: In addition to the annual summer convention to be held on <br />Aug. 21 and 22 in Steamboat Springs, the CWC is scheduling the following seminars this fall: <br /> <br />· Initiatives - What You Should Know .
