CWCB project manager, Mr. Brian Hyde. It is our belief that all comments and concerns regarding the
hydrology study have been taken into consideration at this time.
Staff findings: CWCB staff has determined that the subject 100-year hydrology information for the
Southwest Drainage basin in Otis is in conformance with the CWCB's rules and regulations for
floodplain designation and approval. The 100-year peak flood flows are reasonable and appear to
accurately describe flooding sources in the studied watershed. The most current regulatory floodplain
mapping published for the Southwest basin in Otis was studied by detailed methods, but did not take into
consideration important physical features in the watershed that effect the hydrology. CWCB staff finds
that the old detailed hydrology should be replaced with :the new detailed hydrology contained in the
October 2001 hydrology report presented here for designation and approval.
Staff recommendation: Staff recommends that the Board: l) designate and approve the 100-year
detailed hydrology information contained in said report within the Town of Otis and adjacent portions of
W!lShington County, and 2) authorize staff to prepare a floodplain resolution to be signed by the Director
and transmitted to the Town of Otis, Washington County, and l'EMA. This action is recommended in
order to meet statutory requirements.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION SUMMARY
Resolution Number 01-556: Flood Insurance Study for Eagle County
Staff recommends that the Board: 1) designate and approve the 100-year detailed and approximate
floodplain information contained in said report within nnincorporated portions of Eagle County, and 2)
authorize staff to prepare a floodplain resolution to be signed by the Director and transmitted to Eagle
County and FEMA.
