The application of the technology will be statewide. <br /> <br />Water Conservation Planning Program <br /> <br />1. Landscape Conservation and Drought Planning <br /> <br />Grantee/Contractor: <br /> <br />Ranking: High <br /> <br />CWCB <br /> <br />Amount of Request: <br /> <br />$100,000 <br /> <br />Product Produced: These funds will be used to continue the Green Industries of Colorado (Green <br />CO) projects, and to implement strategies identified from the $350,000 CWCB Drought Planning <br />As'sessment. That Drought Planning Assessment is scheduled for completion in July 2003. <br /> <br />Water Planning Relationship: Drought planning continues to be an important aspect of water <br />resources management. Continuing Green CO projects relative to landscape water conservation is a <br />vital part of this management and provides the data necessary for current and future planning. <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff gives a high recommendation to the funding of this project because of its <br />impact on water conservation and drought planning. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Water Education Projects <br /> <br />Grantee/Contractor: <br /> <br />CWCB <br /> <br />Ranking: High <br /> <br />Amount of Request: <br /> <br />$60,000 <br /> <br />Product Produced: These requested funds would be used to compliment other fund sources. The <br />materials produced would be tailored to public outreach and advocacy regarding the CWCB mission and <br />responsibilities. For example, we will continue to enhance our educational kiosk, purchase materials for <br />our web site and participate in local water festivals. <br /> <br />Water Planning Relationship: The funds and associated projects will improve public <br />understanding of the value of water as a scarce natural resource. This will help local and regional water <br />planning efforts where public understanding and input is important. <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff gives a high recommendation to the funding of this project because of its <br />impact to educate the public to understand the scarcity and value of our water commodity. <br /> <br />3.
