<br />, <br /> <br />VISION <br /> <br />The Fountain Creek Watershed is a regional asset that provides for diverse interests and <br />activities. Therefore, the Fountain Creek Watershed Forum strives to balance <br />environmental health and societal needs through a collaborative process of planning and <br />regional communication. <br /> <br />PURPOSE <br /> <br />The purpose is to: <br /> <br />A. Develop a coordinated regional strategy for watershed management that balances <br />environmental health with the rights, obligations, and property interests of all stakeholders in <br />the watershed; <br /> <br />B. Provide a regional forum for identifying and evaluating Fountain Creek Watershed issues; <br /> <br />C. Evaluate and recommend Federal, State and Local funding mechanisms to sustain local <br />programs that promote the Vision of the Fountain Creek Watershed Forum; <br /> <br />D. Support improved land planning, development, and management practices, natural resource <br />stewardship, and recreational opportunities by promoting cooperation among governments, <br />agencies, landowners, groups and individuals responsible for, affected by, or interested in the <br />watershed and its natural resources; <br /> <br />E. Promote projects and activities that produce measurable environmental benefits within the <br />watershed; and <br /> <br />F. Support a public information and education process about watershed issues and the activities <br />of the Fountain Creek Watershed Forum. <br /> <br />OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />I. To assess watershed issues and evaluate strategies that compliment the Fountain Creek <br />Watershed Forum's Vision. <br /> <br />2. To recommend an organization(s) to carry out the purposes and objectives of the Fountain <br />Creek Watershed Forum. <br /> <br />3. To recommend methods to manage, stabilize and/or protect stream beds and banks, to protect <br />against the effects of flooding, and to balance environmental health with societal needs. <br /> <br />4. To encourage landowners, businesses and governments operating within the watershed to <br />adopt policies and operating practices consistent with the strategies recommended by the <br />Fountain Creek Watershed Forum. <br /> <br />5.
