Many are expressing concerns about the <br />devastating impacts the initiative would have, if adopted, on small districts throughout Colorado. <br /> <br />A group has been formed called "No on Initiative 205_" Members of the group include <br />the Colorado Water Congress, the Colorado Municipal League, and the Colorado Association on <br />Commerce and Industry. <br /> <br />I have attached some background on this issue. This information can be found on the <br />General Assembly website www.state.co.us/gov_dir/leg_dir/lcsstaffi.2000/ballot. <br /> <br />I have also attached other documents for your information: <br /> <br />· An article entitled "State campaign reform law restricts role of officials in municipal <br />ballot campaigns." <br /> <br />· A report by the University of Colorado at Denver, "TABOR 205: The First year <br />Property Tax Impact on Local GovernnIents." <br /> <br />· A question and answer document prepared by Sherman & Howard L..L.C. <br /> <br />If you discuss whether to support or oppose the Initiative, be aware that your actions are <br />governed by Fair Campaign Practices Act. A copy of the Act is also attached. <br />
