BASIS FOR INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION

· The DOW documented that a natural environment is present in the form of a brook trout fishery. .:. .

Based on the DOW's biological recommendation, flows of 1.75 cfs, summer, and 0.75 cfs, winter, are
necessary to preselVe the natural environment to a reasonable degree. However, the winter instream
flow recommendation was reduced to 0.40 cfs (1011 -3/31) based On water avaihibility analysis. The
DOW believes the lower flow recommendation will stilI preserve the natui-aI enVironment.
· CWCB staff has e<onducted a water availability analysis and determined these amounts are available for

· CWCB staff has detennined that adequate water supplies exist such that the natural environment may be
preselVed without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.
