eweB Director's Report

Pursuant to the memorandum dated February 18,.1997 from Jim Lochhead, I am
continue to serve as Acting Director of your staff and offices in Chuck Lile's absence,
Allowing for the large variety and volume of the Director's responsibilities and the
unpredictable duration of this delegation of responsibilities to me, your staff is working
hard to meet this, Chuck's recovery and well being are of great importance to all of us,
and we hope he will be able to join us during the next few days.

At this point in the year, we are scrambling to respond to numerous inquiries
concerning pending budget and legislative matters while we keep up with our ongoing
management and programmatic responsibilities. In this context, I would like to highlight
the following activities within the agency and I welcome your guidance.

Budl!:et and Accountinl!:

· $50,000 supplemental budget request for assistance in preparing flood mitigation
plans and disaster assistance applications for 13 Colorado counties this year.

· $496,264 request to increase our base budget to provide long-term operating,
maintenance and application capability for the CROSS (includes 4 FTE, one of
which will be in the Division of Water Resources). mc hearings went very well.

· Performance audit of the CWCB Construction Fund Loan Program in cooperation
with the DNR and State Auditor.
