AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER

John W. The
appraiser, Darwin E. Asper, placed a value of $600,000 on the property. The current owner is not
willing to negotiate at this price. As a result, the decision was made to withdraw the joint
resolution from consideration by the Board and the Wildlife Commission at the November
meetings.

The appraisal is under review by the Division and there may be some option for revisions
of the initial $600,000 value. Until this analysis is completed further action is on hold.

Both the Board and the Commission was supportive of the resolution and the intent is to
continue ajoint effort to construct a Native Aquatic Species Hatchery. If the current site cannot
be obtained, other sites will be evaluated.

TAMARACK WATER AUGMENTATION PROJECT
The attached report from Grady McNeill summarizes activities on the Tamarack State
Wildlife Area which are being undertaken with the South Platte Lower River Group to augment
flows into the river. The Division is cooperating with the South Platte Lower River Group in
drilling a 2000 GPM well on the property. One of the Division's concerns is the long-term
operations costs associated with the project. Future expansion will largely depend on the results
of any agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wyoming, and Nebraska regarding
flows for endangered species on the lower river.

.

DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, James S.
