JU/V

9,470 acres of land, including 3,l30 acres of
presently irrigated land and 6,340 acres of new
land, develop 3,000 acre-feet of municipal and
industrial water, and provide benefits to recrea-
tion and fish and wildlife. Owens and Buzzard 1
Creek Reservoirs would be constructed on Buzzard
Creele to regulate and store its excess flows
for project use. The irrigation supplies would
be distributed through a group of project facili-
ties, including the Harrison, Brush Creek, and
Colorado Canals, the Cheney Lateral, and a
series of smaller laterals branching from the
main canals. Municipal and industrial water
would be made available for sale at the outlet
works of Buzzard Creek Reservoir. Recreation
facilities would be installed at both reser-
voirs.

The proposed feasibility report on the
Bluestone project is coming along and it will
be, on the present schedule, completed near the
end of fiscal '68.

Grand Mesa studies are continuing and a
feasibility report there is scheduled for FY
'69.

The proposed feasibility report on the
Upper Gunnison Project is scheduled for 1971.

It now appears that the proposed feasi-
bility on the Yellow Jacket Project will be
delayed until the end of FY 1967, for several
reasons. Among them is the interrelationship
between our proposal and the companion investi-
gations and reports of other agencies.

Funds contributed by the Basalt Water Con-
servancy District enabled us to initiate land I
classification and drainage field worle on the
Basalt project during the latter part of FY
1967. This work is continuing.

On our advance planning program, which is
the investigation work following project author-
ization, it is moving along. Fruitland Mesa
