No. 131 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 31, 1979 <br /> <br />R E ~ 0 L U T ~ 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town <br />of Wiggins, Colorado," which includes floOdplain information and <br />data for Kiowa Creek, dated August, 1978, has been prepared by <br />Gingery Associates, Inc., under contract with the Federal Insurance <br />Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and flo~dwater runoff channels <br />Or basins of the stuq.y area;" and " ,-' <br />" <br />:- <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Wiggins has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the flOOdplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 31st day of January, 1979, that it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated <br />by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface eleva- <br />tions and profiles in said report; and <br /> <br />APPENDIX H <br />
