No. 127 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 31, 1979 <br /> <br />R E ~ 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled <br />"Flood Plain Information Report, Big Thompson River, Weld County," <br />dated February, 1978, has been prepared by the United States Army <br />Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, at the request of Weld County, <br />the Larimer-Weld Regional Council of Governments, and the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County <br />has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br />report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel Or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels Or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 31st day of January, 1979, that it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated <br />by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface elevations <br />and prOfiles in said report; and <br /> <br />APPENDIX D <br />
