These stream segments include
recommendations located in Garfield, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Mesa, Montrose and San Miguel Counties.
These stream segments were identified in staffs 2002 Work Plan which was presented to the Board in
March of this year. This tabulation is a preliminary list of possible streams and stream segments from
which the staff may ask the Board to form their intent to appropriate in January 2002. Staff has received
several letters from interested parties regarding these proposed recommendations (see attached letters).
Staff has also held public meetings regarding these recommendations in the towns of Norwood and
Telluride and has also met with the county commissioners of Montrose and San Miguel Counties to
discuss these proposed recommendations. These proposed recommendations are in the initial review
phase and additional data may need to be collected this summer and fall. Some recommendations may
be rejected due to water availability or natural environment concerns. The presence of a stream or
stream segment on the attached tabulation does not mean the staff will make an instream flow
recommendation to the Board in January 2002.

These proposed recommendations are being presented to the Board for information only at this time and
to allow the public an opportunity to provide their input to the staff and Board directly before any
official action is taken. In addition, officials from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) have
requested to update the Board and answer questions regarding their proposed instream flow
recommendation for the San Miguel River between Fall Creek and Horsefly Creek.

Flood Control and Floodplain Management -Lany Lang, Chief .
