At the same time in figuring our benefit
ratio;. the cost of farm produce has not
similarly risen. The Curecanti is being I
caught in that situation. Anybody who
is in the building game or who is doing
work of that kind can verify these figures
very readily."

"Would you say that this program,
having been considered four or five years,
that the longer we wait, with this infla-
tionary trend, the more it may cost?"

"Unle$s there is some benefit in farm
produce, I would say most certainly."

"Is the increase in operation and
maintenance charges likely to have any
effect on these small participating proj-
ects?"

"There is a very good possibility the
men you hire for maintenance will have to
have higher wages. Wages are steadily
going up. I would say that would effect
the participating projects." :

Mr. John Barnard, Sr. asked what was the status of
the Paonia Project plans and reports. Mr. Dexheimer answered
that everything had been done, not only by the Bureau of Recla-
mation requirements but also by the Department of Agriculture
and that the final report had been sent in in; June of this
year. They are now waiting for appropriation from the Bureau
of the Budget.

Mr. Philip Smith, Engineer-Secretary for the Colorado
River Water Conservancy District, asked Mr. Larson for verifi-
cation and classification of benefit-cost ratios on participat-
ing units of the Upper Colorado River Storage Project which Mr.
Larson gave.
