RID water is tied to 22,494 acres of specific irrigated lands in the District, owned by 147 <br />different farm operations, The water is typically used to irrigate corn, alfalfa, beans, and sugar <br />beets, RID diverts direct flow water for the farms under a 1907 priority (417 cfs), but this right is <br />very junior and RID relies primarily on storage water in Riverside Reservoir, owned by RID's "sister" <br />company RRLC, Riverside Reservoir is located outside of the District in Weld County, RRLC <br />owns and operates the Riverside Inlet Canal, diverting water into the reservoir, and the reservoir <br />itself, RID owns and operates the Riverside Outlet Canal and the 90-mile long Riverside Service <br />Canal delivering water to users, In addition, RID uses Vancil Reservoir, a smaller reservoir located <br />toward the end of the system in eastern Morgan County having a 1986 priority, to provide water <br />storage, RID farms also use, on a limited basis, alluvial wells for additional water on their farms, <br />The requirement for augmentation of these wells has caused RID to pursue numerous recharge <br />decrees, Recharge ponds have been created all along the Riverside system with various priority <br />dates, RID is in the process of obtaining a court decreed augmentation plan utilizing the recharge <br />generated to cover their well depletions, Approximately 100 wells are covered by the plan, <br /> <br />Riverside Reservoir - Riverside Reservoir is an off-stream reservoir constructed in 1902, RRLC <br />has a right to store 63,300 AF, and can fill Riverside Reservoir under two different decrees (1902 <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
