Vidal, who explained the reasons~why the position, evidenoed by <br />the resolution, should be supported by the Board. <br /> <br />It was deoided that since this involved questions with respeot to the <br />fish and wildlife of the State, the Director of the State Game and Fish De- <br />partment should be heard before any action was taken. <br /> <br />Thereupon it was moved by Judge O'Rourke and seconded <br />by Mr. Pughe that action on the resolution be delayed until <br />the Colorada Game and Fish Commission was given an opportunity <br />to be heard. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously oarried and declared passed. <br /> <br />The meeting reoessed at l2~30 P. M. to reoonvene at 2,00 P. M. <br /> <br />Afternoon Session - September 14, 1945 <br /> <br />The meeting reoonvened and was oalled to order by the temporary ohairman, <br />J. M. Dill., at 2,15 P. M., September 14, 1945. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. C. N. Feast, Direotor of the State Game ,and Fish Connnissien, was <br />oalled upon to offer his comments ooncerning the proposals for the reser- <br />vation of water in the Caddoa Reservoir for the proteotion and preservation <br />of fish and wildlife and to advanoe recreational purposes. After the <br />presentation by Direotor Feast, the matter was further discussed by the <br />members of the Board. <br /> <br />Thereupon Miss Pointer again presented the following <br />resolution and moved its adoptien, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after full hearings and opportunity for all <br />interested to be oonsidered, the Congress of the United States <br />appropriated the neoessary funds for oonstruotion of Caddea <br />(JOhn Martin) Reservoir in Bent County, Colorado, for uses limited <br />to irrigation and flood control, and ne allocation of funds wae <br />made for any other purpose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of this <br />Board that oertain interested parties have requested that the <br />Corps of Eng:ineers of the United States Army hold a hearing on <br />the feasibility of making a reallooation of the USes for the <br />Caddoa Reservoir, to inolude spaoe therein for the raising of <br />fish and for the development of a fishing resort and other reore- <br />ational faoilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears to this Board that no deviation from <br />the original plan of operation should be undertaken unless olearly <br />for the benefit of the oonnnuni ty invol "'fed. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE.
