NO. 166 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />September 9, 1980 <br />R g ~ Q L U T ~ 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Information, Uncompahgre River," dated February, 1980, has <br />been prepared by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, <br />Sacramento District, at the request of the city of Montrose, the <br />Town of Olathe, and Montrose County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the flOOdplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Montrose has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recOmmend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas thOse <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Gunnison, Colorado, <br />this 9th day of September, 1980, that it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inun- <br />dated by a 100-year flood as set forth in said report; and <br />
