NO. 165 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />September 9, 1980 <br /> <br />R E ~ 0 L UTI 0 li <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "floodplain <br />information and urban drainage report, Cedar Creek, Montrose <br />Arroyo, Dry Cedar Creek," dated April, 1979, has been prepared by <br />Hydro-Triad, Ltd., Water Resource Engineers, at the request of the <br />city of Montrose and Montrose County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of MontrOse has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />requires the Colorado water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the ColoradO Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the ColOrado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Gunnison, ColOrado, <br />this 9th day of September, 1980. that it does hereby designate <br />and approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being <br />inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface <br />elevations and profiles in said report; and <br />
