BASIS FOR INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION

The DOW documented that a natural environment is present in the form of a brook, rainbow and brown
trout fishery. . e
Based on the DOW's biological recommendation, flows of7.25 efs, summer, and 2.5 efs, winter, are
necessary to preserve the natural environment to a reasonable degree. However, the winter instream
flow recommendation was reduced to 1.5 efs (11115-3/31) based on water availability analysis. The
DOW believes the lower flow recommendation will still preserve the natural environment.
CWCB staffhas conducted a water availability analysis and determined these amounts are available for
the Board's appropriation.
CWCB staff has determined that adequate water supplies exist such that the natural environment may be
preserved without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.
