BASIS FOR INSlREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION

. The DOW documented that a natural environment is present in the form of a brook and brown trout
fishery.

. Based on the DOW's biological recommendation, flows of2 cfs, summer, and 1 cfs, winter, are
necessary to preserve the natural ~nvironment to a reasonable degree. However, the winter instream
flow recommendation was reduced to 0.4 cfs (10/15 - 4/30) based on water availability analysis. The
DOW believes the lower flow recommendation will still preserve the natural environment.
. CWCB staffhas conducted a water availability analysis and determined these amounts are available for
the Board's appropriation.
. CWCB staffhas determined that adequate water supplies exist such that the natural environment may be
preserved without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.
