this plan for the piceance Basin area for
minerals, oil shale and coal development
that are being contemplated there.

I

As I mentioned, we continued working with
the Forest Service, Bureau of Sport Fisheries
and Wildlife and the Bureau of Outdoor Recrea-
tion. As a result of this, they gave us
several recommendations which we have tried to
work into the plan. Here is a list of the
recommendations that we have received from
those agencies. We'll go down through each
one of them and explain how we have met them.

First, as I mentioned before, they recom-
mended not using Trappers Lake as a source of
storage. So we cut that out; we eliminated
Trappers Lake plan and added Ripple Reservoir
and Lost Park Reservoir to replace the storage
from Trappers Lake.

Second, to provide a minimum conservation
pool in Ripple Reservoir of 3,000 acre-feet
for recreation and fishery purposes. This we
did. We have a capacity now of 3,000 acre-
feet of permanent pool in the bottom and 17,000
acre-feet of active capacity on top for down-
stream purposes.

I

On the Lost Park Reservoir they recommended
we include 2,500 acre-feet of dead and inactive
capacity in that for recreation and fisheries.
This is the Lost Park Reservoir site. There
are no roads into it now but it is a little
basin on Lost Creek and would make a very good
reservoir site except it is very short of water.
So our plan provides for bringing feeder canals
in from the head of the Williams Fork of the
Yampa River to help fill this reservoir. So
we provided 2,500 acre-feet of inactive con-
servation pool in this reservoir.

On the Thornburg Reservoir site, as I
mentioned, we reduced that in size. They
recommended 6,000 acre-feet of dead storage
