Meeting reconvened Friday forenoon. July 26. 1940. 9.45 a. m.
Mr. John C. Page. Conunissioner of the Bureau of Reolaraation. at the
invitation of the Board. appeared and in a general way presented re-
clamation develocments in the state and referred to the part whioh the
Colorado Water Conservation Board has had in this work.

I.

There Oame before the Board the question of paying for the special
deputy oommissioners who have beenemployeu.on the Laramie River to
enforoe the deoree of the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. M. C.
Hinderlider. State Engineer. submitted an estimate that this expense
would involve $420.00 for the month of July. $420.00 for the month of
August and an estimate of $410.00 for the month of September, making a
total of $1680.00.

After discussion it was ~oved by Mr. Carpenter and seoonded by
Judge O'Rourke that the proposed expenditure for the enforoement of
the Supreme Court deoree on the Laramie River. whioh oonstitutes en
interstate matter. be approved for payment by t~e>Coi6rau? Water
Conservation Board on the basis of the figures submitted by Mr.
Hinderlider for the months of July and August. leaving any expenditures
for the month of September 1940 for further':uthorization.

The motion was duly passed and approved;

State Engineer M. C. Hinderlider who is --qolorado t s Conunis.sioner for
the administration of the Rio Grande Compaot pre'sented to the Board the
finanoia1 requirements to meet Colorado's share of th!"/:,administration of
the Rio Grande Compaot. After disoussion it was agreed that any action
on this matter be deferred until the next meeting of the Board and that
Director Stone. State Engineer M. C. Hinderlider and Chief Engineer
C. L. Patterson of the Colorado Water Conservation Board. make a study
of the financial requirements to pay Colorado's share~r the administration
of the Rio Grande Compact and make a recommendation at the next meeting of
the Board.

Chief Engineer Patterson submitted to the Board certain questions
of policy whioh should be determined with respect to the pending inter_
state litigation on the ~orth Platte.

After ~soussion it was moved by Mr. Carpenter and seconded by
1~. Dille that Director Stone be instructed to review these question~
further 'Nith the attorneys in the North Platte oase and Chief Engineer
Patterson who is engaged in this oase and make suoh recommendations as
may be necessary at the next meeting of the Board.
