Upon review of the data it is the opinion of the Division of Wildlife that additional studies are
needed on Turkey Creek. We recommend that this stream segment be removed from the final
notice of instream flow recommendations at this time pending the results of our further
investigations.

SUMMARY

It is the position of the Division of Wildlife that all of the above stream segments are worthy of
instream flow protection from a pure natural environment standpoint; all have wild, self sustaining
fish populations and all have water available to meet the criteria to preserve the natural
environment to a reasonable degree. While many of these streams are very small and the number
of cubic feet per second need to protect the fisheries are likewise very small, from an overall
ecosystem perspective each of these streams are very important in that they supply young fish to
the whole system and they supply nursery areas for small fish during vulnerable life stages and
during adverse conditions.
