<br />( <br /> <br />.r.- <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />(, <br /> <br />UW-91-01 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a committee has been fo~med consisting of ~ep~esentation.~ <br />from the Battlement Mesa Water Conservancy District, the West Divide <br />Water Conservancy Distric~, the Ute Water Conservancy District and the <br />G~and Junction Office of the Colorado Water Conse~vation Board, to <br />explore the benefits of the previously proposed Owens C~eek Rese~voir <br />on Buzzard Creek, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ute representation to that committee has relayed the <br />progress, pursui ts and objectives of the committee to this Board, <br />indicating some apparent tangible and intangible benefits of the <br />project to Western. Colorado, the Grand Valley of Mesa County, the Ute <br />Water Conservancy District and the public we se~ve, and <br /> <br />WHERE~S, the committee has apparently reached a point in its <br />investigation that requires objective and credible outside <br />confirmation of its conclusions and assumptions, and such a confirming <br />"Report" may require the expenditu~, of funds not currently available <br />to the committee, and <br /> <br />I <br />WHEREAS, the committee has indicated its intention to seek equal <br />committments of $1,000.00 from each of the participating conservancy <br />districts and larger, but unequal, committments from other water <br />resource and development agencies in order to generate this <br />confirmation report, <br /> <br />. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Directors of th. <br />Ute Water Conservancy District that, in the interest of new wate <br />development projects with apparent multiple benefits to a large <br />population of Western Colorado, the District does hereby willingly <br />commit the sum of $1,000.00 to the committees' objective. Which sum <br />shall be available for the remainder of the 1991 calendar year and <br />through the 1992 calendar year, but not beyond without further and <br />formal action by this board.
