<br />Native Species Prol!rams - Provide regulatory stability for water users via program <br />development and implementation of habitat protection, flow recommendations, and <br />endangered species recovery programs. Develop flow recommendations in accordance <br />with Colorado's Compact entitlement. Make recommendations for expenditures from the <br />Native Species Conservation Trust Fund. Use CDSS as a foundation for decision-making. <br />Provide support for the SEO and the Division of Wildlife (DOW) for their activities. <br />Participate in interstate programs that provide regulatory stability for water users such <br />as: <br /> <br />. The Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program; <br />. The San Juan River Endangered Fish Recovery Program; <br />. The Platte River Cooperative Agreement; and, <br />. The Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program. <br /> <br />Federal Water Claims - Better define water needed to fulfill federal land uses. Support <br />efforts to determine reasonable and appropriate quantities of water needed to satisfy <br />federal claims for water for federal lands and evaluate the impact of such claims on <br />compact apportionments and development opportunities. <br /> <br />Statewide Outreach and Education - Each Section shall perform outreach and education <br />including participating in public awareness and program advocacy activities to increase <br />public and organizational understanding of CWCB and develop opportunities for each <br />Section to achieve their goals. <br /> <br />Water Information - Make information accessible to CWCB's customers and the public <br /> <br /> <br />regarding water supply protection, federal water rights, and native species, as well as <br /> <br />general information, through publications, the Internet, the Intranet, databases, and the <br /> <br />imaging of documents. Improve flood threat "forecasting" and outreach to improve <br /> <br /> <br />reservoir operations/planning. Ensure that information is clear, concise, and conveys <br /> <br />information in an understandable manner. <br /> <br />Flood Protection Section <br /> <br />Floodplain Desil!nation - Review and Approve new maps and updates and revisions to <br />current maps to designate floodplains, using Geographical Information Systems (GIS), <br />Global Positioning Systems (GPS), digital floodplain mapping, LIDAR, two-dimensional <br /> <br />5 <br />
