7 A, 78. Historically irrigated meadow located on north side of Lund
Gulch. Approximately 60 acres of pasture grass were irrigated with
the Peabody rightss. Land was sold to USFS in 2000. Land has not
been irrigated since then. View is to the west. Blue River is located
by the trees on the other side of the white house in foreground

8. Enlarged view of meadow. The Peabody Ditch delivered water to the field from the
south (left side of the photo). Ditch traversed top of pasture as indicated. Return flows
and seepage were picked up by a tailwater ditch at the bottom of the meadow. The tailwa-
ter ditch carried water to the north (downstream) to irrigate bottomlands along the west side
of the Blue River near the Slate Creek confluence.
