Delivery: 530 acre-feet

Total ProJect Cost: $388,799

Type of Borrower: Municipal (Low-Income)
CWCB Small Project Loan: $349,799

Interest Rate: 3.75%

Term: 30 years

The Town of Akron provides domestic water to 1,711 residents of the town with approximately 880
taps, residential and commercial. Ten wells feed into a 1.5 million gallon above ground storage
tank, constructed in 1996, for treatment and distribution. All of the Town's wells are low-
producing, and the Town has difficulty keeping up with demand during the summer months. The
project will add two new wells, with transmission lines, to the Town of Akron's water system. The
existing Hoyer Well, drilled in 2000, will be connected to the town's system with 8300' of 12" ductile
iron pipe. The total cost for this part of the project is $241,410. The Thomas/Kuesel Well will be
drilled and connected to the systems with 2700 feet of 12" ductile iron pipe. The total cost of this
part of the project is $131,389. Both wells will have a maximum pumping rate of 500 gpm and a
maximum annual withdrawal of 265 acre-feet. In addition, the project will install a baCkup
emergency generator at one of the existing wells close to Town, at a cost of $16,000.

-- [:------ \i~~~-~r~~==~, -

'.. 44 RD

:" ". ! l 1'--
'\ '" '.
