We purchased homesite 1'lv9m.y
along this stream in 1965 and built our home here in 1970. The area was subdivided in
1965 and Graneros creek passes through the sub-dMsion. We are very pleased to see that
you are working to mammn some water in this Creek.

In the past few years, the stream has essentially dried up in our area during late summer.
We attribute this to water right owners, upstream of us, drying up the creek as well as at
least one individual without valid water rights diverting water from the creek. We, along
with several area residents, attempted to stop this ac1ivity by engaging an attorney and
working with the local Water Engineers Office to no avail.

Graneros creek continues to prm.ide a habitat for trout, including some cut-throat variety,
although it is hard for us to understand how they survive when the stream gets so low and
sometimes dissappears. We appreciate your attempts to maintain water in these streams for
a variety of reasons. Please let us know if we can provide any additional information or be
of any assistance in this matter.

Sincerely:

Don Mathews

e
