The estimated total cost of the project is $445,000. <br />Please see the attached project summary and map. <br /> <br />Backaround <br />Shultz Farm, Inc. owns 2 farms in Weld County. The Hill Lake is on a 546-acre farm, purchased in <br />August 2000, and located about 8 miles northeast of Longmont. Water from the lake supplies a <br />sprinkler that irrigates approximately 200 acres. The Hill Lake has a decreed capacity of 135 acre- <br />feet, but has been silted in over the years so that its normal capacity is now about 65 acre-feet. <br />Shultz Farm wants to excavate the lake to regain lost capacity and increase the capacity beyond <br />the existing decree. The Lake will provide additional irrigation water during drought periods. <br /> <br />Feasibility Studies <br />Steve Shultz, President of Shultz Farms, has completed the feasibility study, using information <br />from Intermill Land Surveying, Inc. The study includes an assessment of the technical and <br />financial feasibility of the project. <br /> <br />Shultz Farm. Inc. <br />Shultz Farm, Inc. is a Colorado Corporation formed in 1973 and registered with the Secretary of <br />State. The purpose of the Corporation is to engage in farming, ranching and livestock feeding <br />operations, and other farming and ranching activities. The Corporation has the authority to buy <br />and sell farms, and to pledge or mortgage real estate as collateral for farm loans. <br /> <br />Water Riahts <br />Shultz Farm owns a 135 acre-foot storage right for the Hill Lake, out of the St. Vrain River, and <br />can also access "free river" water from the St. Vrain River.
