<br />APPLICATION. FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY: <br />PROPOSED PINON HILLS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION PROJECT <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />On June 26, 1981, an application for state assistance was <br /> <br /> <br />rec~ived' on' the sUbJect proJect. The purpose' of this project <br /> <br /> <br />would be to provide lawn irrigation for the Pinon Hills <br /> <br /> <br />subdivision, which lies north and slightly west of Salida, <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado. At the present time, the owners have individual <br /> <br /> <br />wells. The water from these wells is restricted to in-house use <br /> <br /> <br />only. <br /> <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />The Homeowners AssocIation proposes to purchase existing <br /> <br /> <br />water rights in an amount sufficient to allow the residents of <br /> <br /> <br />Pinon Hills to irrigate up to 5,000 square feet of grass and 5 <br /> <br /> <br />trees per site. The Association has located suitable water <br /> <br /> <br />rights for this purpose. The estimated cost of purchasing and <br /> <br /> <br />transferring of the rights is $15,000. Approximately 600-800 <br /> <br /> <br />people would benefit from this project. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />After complete review of the information submitted on this <br /> <br /> <br />project, the staff has concluded that the end result of the <br />
