May <br /> <br />*BlISed on selected stations <br /> <br />Storms that brought some additional snow and cooler weather to the Rio Grande Basin during <br />April helped slow the melting, which normally occurs at this time. The snowpack is above <br />average for the first time this year at 1 11% of average. The Culebra and Trinchera Creek <br />watersheds are at 216% of average, which is the highest percentage in the state. Precipitation <br />the lower valleys was 53% above average during April, and the water year total is now 19% <br />above average. Reservoir storage in the basin is at 33 % above average for this time of year. <br />Most of the reservoirs are below 50% of their capacities with the exception of Terrace <br />Reservoir, which is near total capacity. Streamflow forecasts have improved significantly for, <br />of the forecast points in the basin, and most forecasts are now above average. Forecasts range <br />from 97% of average on the San Antonio River at Ortiz, to 150% of average at the Trinchera <br />Water Supply. e <br />
