The San Juan-Chama Project's authorizing legislation states that the project will be operated in
such a manner so as not to cause injury to existing and future beneficial uses within the State of
Colorado. The CWCB is currently working with the Division 7 Engineer and the Bureau of
Reclamation in an effort to address San Juan-Chama Project operations, which have resulted in
the CWCB's instream flow water right not being met. If these efforts are not successful, the e
CWCB will be forced to place an administrative call for its water right. Instead, the CWCB is
hopeful that an operational solution can be found which will allow the Bureau to honor the
CWCB instream flow right on a permanent basis and maintain Project yield.

Representatives from the Bureau of Reclamation's Albuquerque Office have been invited to
address the Board on the status of these discussions.
