The CWCB and FEMA <br />welcome the City of Lone Tree to the NFIP. <br /> <br />Chatfield Reallocation Study: The Chatfield Work Group met on April27'h in Lakewood, <br />Colorado. Highlights of the project to date are as follows: <br /> <br />"Letters of Commitment" (Letters) - The signed letters with the water users are: <br />Central Colorado Water Conservancy District (3/15/05), Denver Botanic Gardens (3/22/05), <br />Roxborough Park Metropolitan District (3/16/05), South Metro Water Supply Authority <br />(3/23/05), Parker Water and Sanitation District (3/31/05), Centennial Water and Sanitation <br />District (3/15/05), Town of Castle Rock (4/21/05), Castle Pines North Metropolitan District <br />(3/28/05), Castle Pines Metropolitan District(4/17/05), Hock Hocking, L.L.C(3/21/05)., Perry <br />Park Country Club(3/8/05), and Center of Colorado Water Conservancy District(3/3/05). <br />Communication of Intent (Telephone calls, Entity letter, Cash services, etc. from a water user <br />received from City of Aurora (City Letter), Western Mutual Ditch Company (Telephone Call <br />Company will sign letter), Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation (Cash Services). <br />Staff will send out the execute agreements in May and request via an invoice "donations" to <br />assist with the planning costs to complete the study <br /> <br />Proposed Amendment to the Water Resource Act of2005 adding "Environmental <br />Restoration" to the Chatfield Reallocation Study: Ralph Roza, Chief, Corps of Engineers <br />Planning Branch, Omaha District made a presentation regarding the opportunities for Corps <br />Environmental Restoration funding for any reallocated storage space. An amendment is being <br />proposed to amend the existing study authority. Ralph did not provide the study details for the <br />inclusion of this additional task. In the May 1, 2005 Schedule and Cost, a placeholder has been <br />added to the study activity. The <br />Project team will meetagainon-June-15~in L,lkewood at the Tetra Tech-Dffices. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Rio Grande Basin <br /> <br />Reclamation Publishes 2004 Rio Grande Compact Accounting Report: The CWCB has <br />received copies of the Final Armual Water Accounting for Calendar years 2004 and 2004 for the <br />Rio Grande Basin. The contents include Accounting and Operational Summaries and a List of <br />Accounting Tables for the San Juan-Chama Project, Closed Basin Project and San Luis Valley <br />Project. Copies of the report can be obtained by email at ekandl(al,uc.usbr.gov. <br /> <br />Reclamation's Rio Grande Project Reaches 100 Years of Service: On February 25, <br />Reclamation's Rio Grande Project marked 100 years of service to Rio Grande Valley water users <br />in southern New Mexico and west Texas. The Rio Grande Project was originally authorized to <br />settle conflicting interests over the limited supply of water within the Rio Grande Basin of <br />southern Colorado, New Mexico, and far west Texas. Today, the project furnishes irrigation <br />water to approximately 178,000 acres of river bottom land in the Rio Grande Valley. Water is <br />also provided to Mexico by the International Boundary and Water Commission to irrigate 25,000 <br />acres offarm1and in the Juarez Valley, managing the long-term storage of Rio Grande Project <br />water in Elephant Butte and Caballo Reservoirs. <br /> <br />29 <br />
