The <br />Columbine Ranches Property Owners Association supplies water to subdivision residents for <br />irrigation, stock watering, and fire protection. The well that supplies this water has a junior water <br />right (1962) and can not be pumped unless its consumptive use is replaced. The annual volume <br />pumped is 120 acre-feet, and the consumptive use is 84 acre-feet The Association plans to <br />purchase senior water rights that are suitable for augmentation. The Columbine Ranches <br />Property Owners Association is a nonprofit corporation registered in the State of Colorado_ The <br />Association has 54 members and a service area of 160 acres. Robert k Longenbaugh, P.E. has <br />been retained by the Association, and has completed the feasibility study. The Columbine <br />Ranches Property Owners Association plans to purchase the needed senior water rights in 1999_ <br />Proposed funding for the project consists of a CWCB loan for 75% of the cost, with the <br />Association funding the remainder.
