Request for The Denver Seminary <br />(South Platte River in Littleton, Colorado) <br /> <br />Russel George <br />Executive Director <br /> <br />Rod Kuharich <br />CWCB Director <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Introduction <br />At the November 6-7, 1995 Board Meeting, approval was given by the Board to grant requests for <br />easements in CWCB's right-of-way along the Chatfield Downstream Channel Improvement Project <br />(Project) on a case-by-case basis. In addition, at the November 21, 2001 Board Meeting, the Board <br />adopted the "Easement Guidelines for the Chatfield Downstream Channel Improvement Project" dated <br />November 2001. The Staff has received a request from S. A. MIRO, INC. by a letter dated March 1, <br />2004 (attached). 'S. A. MIRa, INC. has submitted a formal CWCB easement application on behalf of <br />The Denver Seminary, Englewood, Colorado. This request, if approved, will provide S. A. MIRO, <br />INC., 4582 South Ulster St. Pkwy. , Suite 1501, Denver CO 80237 on behalf of The Denver Seminary, <br />Englewood, Colorado, the ability to construct a 48- inch storm drain system, which is located in the <br />South Platte River floodplain in Littleton, Colorado. The proposed site is south of Bowles Avenue, on <br />the right overbank, on the South Platte River floodplain and outside of the limits of the 100- year <br />floodplain. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />S. A. MIRO, INe. on behalf of The Denver Seminary has requested a storm drain system easement for <br />permanent access to the South Platte River. The Denver Seminary Project proposal may be subject to <br />the approval by the City of Littleton and the South Suburban Park and Recreation District's Board of <br />Directors. The development does impact the District's recreational path/trail/roadway. The Denver <br />Seminary storm drain project is in the CWCB right-of-way limits. CWCB staff conducted a field <br />inspection of the S. A. MIRa, lNe. request on February 26,2004. <br /> <br />Use for the Requested Area <br />The uses for the CWCB land are for the construction of a 48-inch stormwater drainage pipeline, which <br />is located along the South Platte River Floodplain. The project is the outfall system for the site <br />development proposal and will impact the general public during construction. The easement area is 10 <br />feet wide by 120 feet long located in the improved South Platte Channel Improvement right-of-way <br />Flood Protection. Water Supply Plarming and Finance.
