flood dangers in this area. I think our
Congress - they seem to be a little happy
about giving Colorado River water to every-
body that wants it, but they are not too
happy about appropriating money to store some
of this water and let it down a little bit
slower - I think it's time that Colorado
really asked Congress for some help."

the Corps of Engineers or Region 7? Hearing
none, then let's tall;: about this proposed
resolution. I would agree, craig, with you
that everybody in political office has a real
iron in the fire for reelection and I, for
one, am not going to let the heat got off for
a minute. I thiru;: it is good for the elected
officials, and it is certainly good for the
State of colorado, if we can keep it on.

First of all, Felix, I am wondering if,
in this resolution, $l50 million doesn't seem
right to me."

"I remember Colonel St. Clair, at a meet-
ing of the Missouri River Basin Inter-Agency
Committee, told me, two or three weeks ago,
that he thought the damage would exceed one-
half billion dollars. I don't want to
embellish anything, but I think $l50 million
is too low. Do we have anything to go on? I
know the Corps of Engineers said $l30 million
initially; I know they are raising it up; can
we get a little more accurate figure than
$l50 million?
