NOTICE OF INTENT TO MODIFY WEATHER

Notice is hereby given that John R. Thompson, Dan A. Risch, and
North American Weather Consultants (Incorporated in utah) of
3761 South 700 East, Salt Lake City, utah, hereinafter referred
to as "Applicant" has, or is about to file with the Director of
the Colorado Water Conservation Board, designee of the Executive
Director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, an
application for a permit to conduct weather modification
operations within the State of Colorado and within the areas
hereinafter more specifically stated. The Applicant shall
conduct such operations for and on behalf of the Grand Mesa Water
Users Association, 1381 2420 Drive, Cedaredge, CO 81413. The
application is being made pursuant to Article 20 of Title 36,
C.R.S.

The target area is the Grand Mesa above 8,000 feet
elevation and adjoining mountainous areas above 8,000 feet
elevation east and southeast of the Grand Mesa. The
proposed area is bounded by T11SR97E on the northwest,

T13SR97W on the southwest, T12SR94W on the south, T12SR91W,
south to T50NR6W, east to T50NR5W, north to TllSR89W
(McClure Pass), northwest to T9SR90W on the north, southwest
to T1lSR92W (Chalk Mt.) and west to T11SR97E. The proposed
target area includes portions of Delta, Mesa and Gunnison
counties.

The general area beyond the primary area which may reasonably'be
expected to be affected by the weather modification operations
includes portions of the following counties: eastern Mesa,
northern Delta, southern Pitkin, western Gunnison, and eastern
Montrose.
