A Description of the Objectives of the Proposed Project. <br /> <br /> <br />The nature of the proposed program is to augment natural precipitation <br /> <br />within the project area to provide improved snowpacks and additional <br /> <br /> <br />water supplied for storage and beneficial use. The operational <br /> <br />technology and procedures utilized in this program were derived <br /> <br /> <br />from previous snowpack augmentation programs operated in Colorado, <br /> <br />specifically: The Climax and Wolf Creek research programs, the <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin.Pilot Project and the last 22 winters' programs <br /> <br />operated by WESTERN WEATHER CONSULTANTS <br /> <br /> <br />and San Juan Mountains. <br /> <br />The objectives of the project are to increase snowpacks in the <br /> <br /> <br />drainage basins of all major mountain massifs in the project area <br /> <br />in the Central Colorado <br /> <br />which should result in increased run-off into the storage systems in <br />these baa ins and reault in an additional water supply for agricultural, <br />industrial or domestic use along with an additional snowpack for <br />winter recreational use. <br /> <br />2. A Written Description of the Target Area and the Area Reasonably <br />Expected to be Affected by the Project. See attached Map. <br /> <br />. . <br />The tar~et area consists of the designated ski area of the <br />Telluride Ski and Golf Company (See attached aap). <br />The areas reasonably expected to be affected by the project are <br />those areas approximately above 9,000' M~S.t. inside and imaediately <br />sdjacent to-the ski area in the upper San'Miguel. drainage basin and <br />the uppermost ridges immediately downwind of the target area (See <br />attached aap). <br /> <br />3.
