1984-85 SAN JUAN PROGRAM GENERATOR WIND CRITERIA

Silverton
Direction

Generator
Site

Wind
Direction

2000 22 1200 - 1900
Non-Op
2050 23 1600 - 2000 2100
2200 24 1900 - 2150 2250 - 2500
* 2350 25 2000 - 2300 2400 _ 2800
* 2470 26 2200 - 2400 2500 _ 2800
* 2550 28 2300 - 2500 2600 _ 2900

*Note - Western Weather Consultants feels that, because of the great

distances in excess of 48 miles between generator sites 25,

26 and 28 and Silverton, Colorado, the
these sites at wind directions of 235~

dispersion of nuclei from
o 0
247 and 255, respectively,

would be extremely diluted downwind over Silverton because of the

multiple opportunities for the nuclei to be utilized in the

precipitation process over the mountain barriers between the

sites and Silverton. Consequently. any possible carryover of

nuclei from these sites over the Silverton area would be of such

a low concentration as to cause no significant effect in that

area's natural precipitation.
