TABLE 4

Table 5 shows the 1993 crop-hail insurance claim distribution
in W~l counties for each day hail damage was claimed. The greatest
number of claims occurring this season within the WKWM target area
was on June 18th when a 19-year record-number of 959 claims for one
day were submitted from 12 of the 13 WKWM counties. Finney County
submitted 243 on that day alone---the most for any WKWM county this
season. Forty-nine Kansas counties sustained hail damage June
18th---1707 claims in all for the State making it the third highest
day for claims in all of Kansas---over half of them in the W~VM
target area. However, the worst day for the State was on July 4th
when 48 counties were damaged and l8l9 claims were filed---none
whatsoever inside the WKWM target area. Second most claimed day
for Kansas was July 1st when 51 counties were damaged and 1765
claims were filed---but only 5 claims in the WKWM target area.
There were 123 hail-days reported 1993 for Kansas on the whole.
