<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />OPERATIONAL STATEMENT <br /> <br />AtIIIOspherics Incorporated intends to Of)erate a weather modification <br />program over the general area of the San Luis Valley in Colorado. This <br />program is designed to IlIOdify natural cloud developllll!nts in such a way as <br />to benefit the residents of this area without affecUIIg the people, property <br />or enti rollllllfltal aspects of the adjacent areas. <br /> <br />In general, the operation involves the aerial application of silver <br />iodide, or other artificial nuclei,.to various cloud forms during the <br />operational period 1 July 1972 through 5 September 1972. A ground based <br />radar station shall be used to coordinate all seeding activities and pro- <br />vide data necessary for subsequent reconstruction of all meteorological and <br />all operational aspects. The base of operation will be in or near Monte <br />Vista, Colorado. <br /> <br />The target area, within which precipitation may be nodified, can be <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />The boundary of the target area shall be a Hne beginning at Poncha <br />Pass approximately eiht miles south of Poncha Springs, Colorado, and <br />running southwesterl along the Continental Divide to Spring Creek <br />Pass approximately ree miles north of Continental Reservoir; thence <br />southeasterly to Saw Tooth Mountain approxillltely five miles north- <br />west of Wolf. Creek Pass; thence south-southeasterly along the Conti- <br />nental Divide to the south border of the Colorado State Line; thence <br />easterly along the Colorado State Line to the southeast corner of <br />Costilla County; thence northerly to North LaVeta Pass on Highway 160; <br />thence northwesterly along the Sangre de Cristo Range to the point of <br />origin at Poncha Pass. <br />
